CAR RENTAL

You'll find most of the big international car rental companies in Cairo and Alexandria, and local car rental companies, so take time to shop around.

 

TAXIS

All of the major cities have plenty of taxis to drive you around town. There are a few simple rules you should follow, to ensure that your journey runs smoothly :

Make sure you know where you're going. Before you leave your hotel, ask the receptionist how much the journey should cost. You will find taxis outside hotels.

You can use the new Cairo yellow cabs with meter counter, and even ask for a receipt, and the taxi driver will be happy to help you in different languages. There are many companies in service, you can call them from anywhere.

 

TRAINS

The train is one of the best ways to travel between major Egyptian cities. There are three types of trains available: the ordinary, the express and the turbo. The express and the turbo are more expensive but they will get you to your destination rapidly with all catering facilities, and air-conditioned carriages are available in the 1st and 2nd class. The turbo train takes under about two hours to go from Cairo to Alexandria.

The Abela Sleeping Train company also offers daily trips to Upper Egypt.

FACILITIES FOR THE DISABLED
National institutions, that serve the disabled have been established throughout Egypt, some of which follow the government sector, and others follow the private sector, these institutions are based in part of it on voluntary contributions from its unconditional provided through the National Foundations for the services of persons with disabilities.
